Hi all -

I have a Holley 950 Commander MPFI setup that I am trying to figure out the idle on. I have searched through quite a few threads here and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I have two issues:

1. Upon startup, the vehicle surges to a high idle, then settles down to the desired idle. I have the latest firmware/software, and I have set the min IAC positions to 0 for the idle range. I also changed my IAC parked position. This is where my question comes in. For the given operating temperature that I was at, I changed the IAC parked position down to a few different values. Then, I would key the engine off, then just turn the key back on (not the engine), and look at the IAC position to see if it matched the parked position that I just set. But, no matter what I set the IAC parked position to be, the computer reads IAC position of 100 when the engine is off and the key is on.

2. I have a manual transmission, and whenever I go to push the clutch in, the engine does not drop in RPM unless I do a quick mash of the throttle. I checked the throttle linkage to see if it was sticking, but that seems ok. Any suggestions for this?

Thanks in advance.

That's normal. When the engine is shut off, the C950 IAC fully seats, then moves to the 100 position (half-way).
When cranking to start, the IAC moves to the IAC Parked Position. I never liked it, but that's how it was designed.

I need more clues on this one. Does it seem EFI related?

I am not sure. I just know that when I come up to a stoplight, or if I am shifting gears, when I push the clutch in, the RPMs stay at some higher level than idle. After reading some threads on here, I thought maybe it was electrical noise related, but I am not sure since it will dive down to normal idle level if I very quickly romp on the throttle.
