Did you plug the yellow wire from the new engine harness into you original wiper harenss? Take a test light and check voltage on that yellow wire with the key on. Let me know what you find.

Mark,

The switch has nothing to do with it. The yellow wire at the motor is hot all the time when the key is on. The switch switches ground, not power with GM products. OK, now that you've determined that you have no voltage on the yellow wire at the motor, go check both sides of your wiper fuse inside the car with the key "on". You should have voltage on both sides of that fuse. Let me know what you find.

Donny

Hi Donny,

Checked all the fuses today as not 100% sure which is the wiper fuse.

All except the 3rd fuse from the bottom have power on both side with key on.

The 3rd fuse from the bottom is dead on both sides of the fuse, had a look to make sure terminal plug was on correct it seams ok.

By the way was quite impressed by the quality of & fit of the harness well done & thanks for your help, cheers Mark

The fuse third up from the bottom is the one for dash lamps and will be dead unless the lights area turned on. The top fuse is the one for the wiper motor. With the key "on", check voltage at the yellow wire on the engine harness assembly and then check voltage at the bulkhead assembly where the yellow goes into the firewall. Let me know what you find.

Thanks, Glad you were happy. Hopefully, we get you squared away here pretty quickly. By the way, were things working before you replaced the engine harness? Did you do anything to disturb the wiper harness or switch in the dash by any chance?

Donny

Hi Donny,

The wipers were working when i removed the old harness, i'll check the bulk head connector tonight when i get home from work, i dont think i disturbed the wiper switch but i had to remove & reinstal the key switch as one of the wire broke off when i removed the plug to fit the new HEI wire, so i'll double check i havent disturbed it tonight, thanks for your help Regards Mark

Did you re-install the wire that you removed from the ignition back into the 3 inch pigtail on the new wire? If not, that's the problem as you may not be feeding the dash, just the HEI.

I have no idea why you would not have voltage out at the yellow wire then Marc. Let me know where you do and don't have voltage after you check, OK?

Donny
