The oil passage from the oil pump up through the block, to the head is probably plugged up. It used to be routine to pull the head and drive a rod down the passage to unclog the passage. That was in the days of Pennzoil. It can still happen. A 235 pump doesn't put out that much pressure in the first place. I ran a 1/4 inch tube from the oil pressure sending unit up and over the valve cover to the where there is an 1/8 inch pipe plug going into the plug on the other side of the head. No more clacking rockers.

first pull your valve cover. put a piece of card board from top of fender to top of head so oil does not get all over the place start your car if not getting oil in few seconds. next step would be pull the rocker assemble watch what your doing mark the why it comes apart don't mess with the adjuster since you say it's quite when oil get pressur it will not need adjusting when you put back on. sock in gas or othere cleaner over night disasemble and clean. if you still have samr problem. run a copper tube from oil sending unit by the clutch bar around back of motor to the bolt just above plugs ans 1/2 inch below valve cover died center of head. you'll have all the oil you want

FWIW I have the same issue with my 60. The noise goes away pretty quickly. It is more pronounced and lasts a little longer.if the car sits for a long time. My guess is I have one or more lifters that are bleeding down.

i checked all the adjustment and they seemed lose so i adjusted them ,, but after starting the engine still had the sound , and i started it with out the cover and didnt see alot of oil then after about 5 min or so ( longer ) i saw a little oil coming out the small holes on top of rocker arm still not like i thought , i thought it would be everywhere,, so i have other problems no i guess ,, so what do i do without pulling the head ????
please help guys
Is there a oil filter,, i could not fine one, i thought it might be clogged or something, causing poor oil flow

do you guys think its worth me removing a lifter and see if they are stuck or need cleaning??? i have adjusted them enough with it running and hot and not running and hot ,, i still have bad clicking it goes away after a little while running ,, as soon as i turn it off and sits it comes back ,,i could do a cam swap? but costly ,, what my options ???, i do have good oil pressure ( 40 psi) hot ,,i do have oil up top after a little while running ,, here is a pic

well i got a lifter out and got the rocker *** off ,,i thought oil came through the stands that hold up the *** but no i guess it comes through the small tube ( oil connector ) and travels through the rocker arm shaft and then comes out the rocker arm ,,,,, now the lifter feels strong to push i tried to push it in and couldn't ,, now there is a small hole in the side of it for some reason the oil that came out rocker ***. was kinda dirty and nasty now to clean everything up and figure out the lifters here is a few pics
