We have a 1968 Caprice that needs restoration and I am having trouble finding some parts. Most prominently the Chevy logo at the front. At one point the car rolled into someones car denting the the very front of the Caprice and breaking the emblem. The denting is not severe so i'm wondering if I could just buff it out although the emblem is broken beyond repair. What is the actual name of this emblem and will I just need to find a replacement front portion the emblem is attached to? Also where can I find this piece?

The panel between the fenders I call a 'header panel'. The emblem is two piece. The plastic 'bow tie' I have seen on ebay and the chrome part may be on ebay or try Impala Bobs or other Chevy parts suppliers. Jim

The plastic is available commercially, the die casted emblem assembly is not. They are only way you will find the entire assembly is either used or New Old Stock. They are very condition sensitive as they pit badly, so used pricing will vary depending on how nice it is. An NOS unit can be 200-300 bucks as they are getting very tough to find and are extremely desirable. Ebay is a decent place to look.
