After all the years of hard work, finally got to race the '55!! It was at a city sanctioned legal street race event my buddy Jeremy organizes each year in El Reno, Ok. The link below is my first claim to fame in my 44 years. Click link then look to the right of the page under the EGB player, Mom's car at Small Town Weekend. I have a couple other videos on Youtube I can link when I get home(Youtube blocked at work). Below are some photos from the even as well. Needless to say I'm proud of the Ol' Girl and had a blast racing!!

Hopefully this isn't too many pictures, but I am really excited about being to race finally, lol!! Hope you guys enjoy!!

I've know Jeremy since I was born lol. My grandparents started this event in 99 with 2 other couples. I was there racing in my 12 second daily driver..... That 55 is nasty!

Very Cool!
What kind of times were you getting?
Our track won't let a passenger ride along, and we have to roll the windows up, can get pretty warm inside on a summer day!

Motor, 11.80 or better is what I'm hoping for, hasn't been to the track yet, so no idea what she runs, on the hose(if I wind up spraying it) hoping deep in the 10's.

That '55 is BAD AZZ! Very quick off the line Phil, and that thing looks fast.
It's really a thing of the past around here to ever think of having an event like that. Too many rules, they will even give tickets to people in a parking lot that do burnouts at a cruise. Even if it's not near anyone. It didn't used to be that way.

Great Video! Nice leave on the other joker too. At 1:45, it looks like you got a gloss black interior roof.

swbatt, it is gloss black, it's POR-15, no headliner in the car.
Thank you for all kind words guys, it truly was a dream come true to be able to taker her out and race!! The pass in the video was almost entirely in 2nd gear. I haven't raced in years and did a rookie mistake. When I staged, I kept my hand on the shifter and when the car left it was hard enough to cause me yank it into 2nd gear right off the line, lol! My second race was much better, no hand on the shifter on that one. I forgot to post those video's last night, so I'll get them up tonight. As for my military service, it's my pleasure, wouldn't trade it for the world!!

I'd give up the way my '55 looks for the way your '55 sounds any day! That car is too cool.

Drag races on a city street? We have them in Duluth, MN once a year. Started as time trials and then last year drag races. This year the drag races will be held both Saturday and Sunday. Its a blast.
