I hate ‘what’s it worth’ threads, but I’ve been away from Corvettes for 30 years – and I should have taken pictures.
Car – 1969 Coupe, Daytona Yellow, black interior, 390hp 427, 4-speed, 3.08 rear, PW, PS
62,000 miles
History – Bought in late 1970 with just about 30,000 miles. Minor front end collision in mid-1970’s, total
Re-paint in early 80’s (down to gel-coat), engine un-touched except for removal of A.I.R.
pump/ hoses and replaced one rocker arm. New clutch mid 70’s. Stainless steel calipers all 4
wheels
Ex-wife got car in divorce; car has been in a dry garage under a cover since early 80’s – had
58,000 miles in 1984, last Penna inspection 2006
Present condition – Looks good, interior is fresh (no musty smells)
I started it up yesterday (first time since ’06) – pulled plugs, cranked it till it had oil
pressure. Primed carb and it fired right up, sounds great!
Valve covers showing rust, all ignition shields in place. Tires are B. F. Goodrich fabric
radials from mid-70’s, 90% tread.
No brakes – not sure why, master cylinder?
She wants to sell it – but does not have to (she wants more garage space)
Any ideas on worth?

The good part, 427 4spd. The bad part, yellow. (I personally love yellow). Yellow cars seem hard to sell. I have a friend who has a VERY nice '72 small block coupe he is asking $32K for and can't get any calls. Considering it has been sitting for so long which means there are probably lots of things that need replacing, I'm guessing about $15k. Check e-bay. That'll give you an idea of what they are going for. Tell her all the bad stuff and offer her $12k!

Hmmm - I'm surprised a complete, running, original-engined car would start that low (matching numbers and all that.....) - the brakes should be an easy fix.
And while it may sound strange, the higher the price she gets, the better for me - don't ask!

The car will need all four calipers rebuilt/replaced after all that time, they get rusty and leak. May be the reason for you slack pedal. I like the yellow too! Good luck with it whatever you decide to do!!
