Looking for some help, fresh motor 383 8.5 static compression, 6 71 supercharger w two 750 cfm "boost referenced Holleys. MSD dist and box with adjustable boost retard.
Problem: breaking up, detonation? starts at about 3000 rpms under light throttle no boost. Tried initial timing at 10 & 13 degrees, mechanical advance limited to 18 degrees. Tried playing with different advance springs. Presently at total advance by 3000 rpms. Maybe engine needs more advance? Fuel pressure and volume is good.
Any thoughts?
