Water pump on my 97 Blazer is leaking and I was wondering which antifreeze I should go back with. Has dexcool in it now and it's clean. Thanks

Well, you can't find green anymore. It's only yellow or Dexcool. I use yellow (green stuff now) when I replaced a heater core and radiator. Remove the Dexcool now. If it's clean, changing will help save your heater core. Heater cores eventually fail, but you can save it for longer use by removing Dexcool. If you just add yellow stuff, compatible with green and Dexcool, it will dilute Dexcool and work just as good.

Buy the concentrated stuff!! Most shelf stuff is 50% water!! Why pay so much for water. I had a counter guy give me a strange look when I asked for the concentrated stuff. He had to go into his inventory and find it.

I know about that. It's the same way here, they want to sell the watered down stuff. The consumer really has to be on top of things today even at the grocery store. Thanks for the tip.

You can make things fool proof...but not damn fool proof. Most people that buy the un-diluted antifreeze, are not smart enough to cut it with distilled water. Even then, how much do you mix without having a lot left over? If it's a partial fill...I'll use the 50/50 mix.

What do you mean that you can't find green anymore? I just bought some at Autozone last week.

I can find it, but I have to look for it. Yellow stuff is replacing both green and Dexcool.

If I'm just topping off, I buy mixed stuff 50% water/50% antifreeze. If I'm completely flushing a system or refilling, I use the concentrated stuff.
