Just wanted to say hello. I'm from Asheville, now retired, do not have a car yet, but am looking for a 1954 2 door sedan.
Thought I would sign up and add whatever I can and learn whatever I can.
My background is with GM, my interest is old Chevys.

Jim, I retired October of 2010. Only one week after I retired the church I pastor now started calling and asking if I would come here as pastor. I said NOOOOOOOO I'm retired. After 7 monthes of their persistence, calling me almost every week to see if I had changed my mind I gave up. Im pastoring again.
I waited 6 months before I applied for my SS. a month later I got my first check and had to give it back because I was no longer retired. Bummer! Oh well that's my retirement story. Maybe the Lord will let me retire one day.

I think upon retirement, we should all be given an old Chevrolet; far better than a gold watch. You've definitely found the right spot to be in order to help your dream along. Butch/56sedandelivery.

Welcome to a family friendly knowledgeable group of chevy owners. A 54 is a good choice for a start.

At 32, don't "wish" your life away ..... find the job that you LOVE, that is the key, in my opinion.

HI Bob. sorry if my words got crossed,i dont "wish" my life away,i love what i do for a living but it does get frustrating, very, very frustrating at times but move on and move forward right?
anyways, what i meant by being retired is to have the time to spend with my family, working on my car and all the other "little things" in life that there just does not seem to be time for.
in this day and age i think even if there was 48 hours in a day there still would not be enough time to get done all what i need to get done in a day.
like my dad always says,"you should be retired until 65 so you have the time to spend with your kids when they are young and do all the things that you want to do in your youth, then at 65 you work 12 hours a day until you drop" sounds good to me....

Wishing you were retired takes you from 32 to 65 years old .... that is what I meant.
What you do is a VERY difficult job, no doubt.
Be certain you still want to be doing at 50 years old what you're now doing at 32 years old.
