Not good at wiring. How would I hook up emergency flashers?

Quite a few Yankee turn signal units w/4-way flasher on ebay for under $50, as long as you stay away from the super-vintage ones.

Note to self.. when searching for emergency flashers on the internet, always include the word "emergency".
Emergency Flasher vs. Flasher: Both usefull terms, hardly interchangeable

A double pole toggle switch or two separate toggle switches. Tie the front and rear (right/left) wires together comning out of the turn signal switch and wire through the switch/switches. Relace the flasher with a high load or electronic flasher. Rewire the turn signals to operate on battery feed insted of ignition feed.
Turn on the switches, walla. 4 way flashers.

You have to turn on the left or right turn signal as well as the toggle switch/s. Forgot to mention that part.

Hello All!
I have just acquired a Signal-Stat 105Y78 Flasher setup (NOS), but it has no wiring instructions. I looked in the Tech Tips and couldn't find the one you're referring to. I'm wiring a 1965 Chevrolet C-10.
My unit has a part number on the original box as #2234058, and the label says it's a Flasher - Emergency Switch for a GMC. It has the following wires coming out of it, in this order:
* Orange: pigtail to flasher unit, which pigtail's to an inline fuse
* Yellow
* White
* Purple
* White
* Light Blue
* Dark Blue
* Purple
* Green
Other than the Orange, which is obviously the power lead, I have no idea what these do. I'd really like to wire them into my harness using connectors like a junk Model 105Y79 I have has on it (got at a salvage yard - was connected to a truck, but never installed in mine), except the "79" has only 6 wires coming out of it.
Can anyone help me?
THANKS in advance!
