Hi, I have a 96 gmc sierra i am trying to replace the power brake booster on. However, i cannot disconnect the push rod from the brake pedal because i cant figure out how to take the funny looking circle clip out that keeps the pin in place that runs through pedal and push rod. Thanks!

his is a pic of the clip http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/myoung274 ...

Welcome to the forum,

The round clip that came in around '95 is a little pesky but not bad at all once you know the trick. If you spin it around the stud until you see the split in the clip, you'll also note there are two semicircle holes on either side of the split. Use snap ring pliers in there to gently spread the clip apart, only needs to be a little bit, and you can then slide it off the stud. No biggie.

Hello,
Is this part available from Chevy or a local auto store. I broke mine when I had to replace my brake booster. I rigged it up with 2 hose clamps side by side (2 for safety) however...I am always worried that this will let go & I'll have no brakes ....been like 5 years now.

I had a hose clamp on mine for 6 months, then it came off i went to the carquest auto and bought a regular round retaining ring, also if its loose the brake switch may malfunction.

The dealer does have this clip. To my knowledge the parts houses don't have it...or didn't have it "yet" last time I checked. That may have changed.
