I have a 56 Belair 2dr hardtop with what I believe has the deluxe heater. My kick panels are painted turquoise and made of cardboard. There are no outside air vents on these kick panels. Should there be? I've noticed that 56 painted kick panels are sold without cutouts for the fresh air vents so thats why I'm asking. Thanks

Yes. The side kick panels have fresh air vents and there are pull knobs to open and close them on each side below the dash.
you can see the vent in this picture.

You're right! Removed the kick panels and there they were. Now I need to get the vent covers and figure out where to cut the cutouts in the panels. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Is there a pattern or template available or is it just a little guesswork and alot of measuring? Thanks for responding.

I see they sell ABS plastic kick panels with the cutout already cut that need to be painted. Has anyone ever used the plastic ones and what is your opinion of them? Thanks

You might be able to measure for the approximate location of the cutout. Then cut a smaller hole and enlarge it to the correct size. ...... Link to vents.

You can rub chalk on the metal mounting tabs of the vent, then install the panel and tap on it with your hand to transfer the chalk to the back of the panel. Punch the mounting holes in the panel and lay the louver on top of the marks then mark and cutout what you need to.

Thanks for the offer 5557Mad but have already found a set. What color were the air vent covers painted in 1956? Also what color was the heater assembly painted in 1956? Thanks
