I recently got a 95 caprice with the 5.7 LT1 with about 85,000 miles. The car starts without issues but once placed in a drive gear it struggles for power. The whole optispark has been changed. New wires and correct gap for spark plugs. Ive cleaned the throttle body and replaced the air filter. Ive also replaced the fuel pump assebly/ with pump and fuel filter. I also replaced the ignition coil. All injectors seem to be working. I was wondering what else could it be? Ive tried to retrieve the codes from the check engine light and I just couldnt get the codes to read clearly, it may not be functioning correctly. Does anyone have any other ideas what it might be? I really dont want to keep buying parts for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You cannot retrieve codes with a paperclip on these cars. You need either an ALDL cable and a program like Freescan or Datamaster or an OBD I scanner. You need the codes to diagnose.
Why did you replace the Opti and fuel pump with only 85000? Did you use Delco parts?
What is the fuel pressure? Should be 47-41.
Did you replace the ICM?

I replaced the fuel pump assembly because the person who owned it before me swapped the fuel pump and broke the metal tubing when installing it again. I bought a code scanner but it flashes extremly fast. I pulled up 8 or 9 codes if I did it correctly. Which I dont think I did, because I had to start the car for the codes to read. Manual said to put on auxilary so thats why I think its not reading correctly. The optispark was also replaced by the previous owner. ICM has not been replaced. I will look into that thanks.
