Due to my mistake , I now have a credit at a local salvage yard but concern about them loosing the record has me looking to spend it soon . So, reading about an HEI conversion made me think maybe I should pick one up for the near future. Their inventory shows three types: a round mini (part #30-1631 from an '83 2.8L), a flat sided mini (part #30-1635 from an '88 4.3L) and a large (part #30-1697 from an '80 250ci).
Now a question for those with some experience is: aside from cosmetics, would any one of these be easier to convert, better fit or cheaper to run than the others? BTW, my machinist cousin has offered some help.
Thanks

Sorry, it would be used in a 235/261 running off 12 volts.

Link
Go to this link on the Hamb, gives a detailed instruction of that very conversion.
I used it when I took the 53 police car to HEI, works like a champ

Thanks Happy,
I've read your link as well as a couple others, they're all over the net. There's also the mini conversion here http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/HEI_mini.html.
I was curious if there were many here who had positive and negative feedback on their conversion. I'm leaning toward the 2.8L dizzy, without the base plugs, for the aesthetics.
