I had a faulty sprinkler head (rainbird 2045a). I replaced it with another same model but new. Now the new one only goes in one direction hits the stop and doesn't go back. I tried everything I could think of and after getting soaked and PO I called it quits. I'm not a irrigation mechanic and and don't have any more patience. The old one worked fine until a spring inside decided to break. Any ideas?

I'm fighting spinklers myself the past two weeks. Usually (for me) if I don't get the line flushed good after working on them I have the same problem. I've got 14 of those out back.

I have 10 in my main front lawn and have never had a problem until the one boke a spring. They have been good for about 10 years. I figured the replacement of one would be a piece of cake.

I've never had a spring break but have had them pop out of the hole. Maybe lost their tension.
I have to take a few end ones off tomorrow to clean out, will refresh memory of how they operate. In recent years I replace them when they act up. I get alot of rocks and trash in mine after the top lid pin breaks off.

The one replaced had some trash in it last year when it started acting up. I turning on the set of sprinklers it was on and while it was on pushed it down with my foot out of frustration and it started working and lasted the rest of the season.

I have 6 stations on my system and it other than the one sprinkler head that is beating me the only other problem is on my drip system. My 3 year old thinks its a toy and caused some damage. Should be able to cure that in a few hours of plugging holes and adding a few new drip lines.
