Sheet metal off '55 210, taillite assy's removed, bulbs/sockets hanging loose, grounds attached. Lite sw on, taillites, dash lites doomlite Ok, new headlite sw. Do I have to have front lighting connected to allow taillites to work? Continuity to rear indicates no breaks in wire. Any ideas? I can't get under the dash to many more times!! Thanks

The tail lights and brake lights should work without the front connected. The turn signals depend on all bulbs connected to blink. The headlight switch doesn't have anyrhing to do with the brake/turn signals. Do the tail lights work? Are you sure you have a good ground on the tail light assys. Check the plug near the drivers kick panel that goes to the rear harness. Link to rear harness connector.

Acardon, taillites work. I alligator- clipped bulb socket to tailpipe, good ground, bright lite.I separated plugs and ck'd continuity at rear harness side of plug(pink and violet wires) and other side of plug which I wired into GM tilt column multi-wired plug,. All OK.I disassembled car 5 yr's ago and all worked well at that time. Ck'd new brake lite sw wire routing, looks OK.I'll hook-up front park lites and try again. Thanks for info....Bing
