Hey all. I (and my son Dylan) have had to make a really tough decision with regard to his 1971 Monte Carlo.
I've got good news and bad news. First the good news. Earlier this year I was selected for a promotion to Senior Master Sergeant. For those of you not familiar with Air Force enlisted ranks, I will be an E-8, and in the top 3% of the enlisted ranks. Along with the promotion, I got a new military assignment to Alaska. We are excited about the move.
However, the move does have a downside. We won't be able to take the Monte Carlo with us and I am not in a position to store it somewhere. I had to put my 1957 Bel Air in storage already. As much as we don't want to do it, we are putting his car up for sale. I don't think it would be good to try and drive it 3500 miles across the Alaska-Canada highway. And the temps can get to be 60 degrees below zero in the winter.
Before I list it on evil bay, I wanted to post it here. It is a 1971 Monte Carlo, 350/350 turbo. It is factory equipped bucket seat/console car and has 75,427 miles on it.
I have posted a few photos here [and have plenty of others I can send via email].

I've also included a short video.

If any of you are interested, I'm asking $6,000 or best offer. The car is located in Belleville, IL, which is about 20 miles east of St. Louis, MO.

Nice car, sorry you have to sell it. You might also get a good response if you post it in the for sale section of the message board at www.fgmcc.com.
Based on the photos, it looks like you have priced it well. Good luck!

As of this morning, I am no longer the owner of a first generation Monte Carlo.
I had it listed on evil bay and locally had someone stop at the house today. We took the car for a short ride, haggled out a fair price, and completed the deal.
It was tough to see it go. But, I know the guy and his son will enjoy the car.
