HI all, I have been looking at assorted pictures of "stock" 56 Chevy, 265, dual quad (represented as original) set ups.
1 What is the correct coil position & location?
2. There is no oil filter?
Thanks,
George

The coil is attached to the distributor with a "figure. 8" bracket.
There is an oil filter on the block that uses a 131 filter.
The assembly manual has some drawings, i think.

Here is a photo of a reproduction figure 8 coil bracket:

Thanks guys. I am looking at the purchase of a 56 150 that appears right from the 3/8 fuel line from the tank all the way up. So I'm comparing against other pics I see and the words I hear from the seller who seems like a real nice guy.
Trying to do a little homework as this is way new territory for me. I've had beater cars while rearing the family & taking care of the mortgage & stuff, and finally as I realize I am past 60 and the clock is running faster it seems...so, I'm saying why the hell not? Want to go and smash bugs all over the front of it but I'm not so well off I can't make a mistake and buy some patched up junk for big $$, so I'm trying to figure out 'right things' before I launch.
Appreciate y'all's help with any info or pics. Sorry for the dumb questions but I was trying to figure the early late thing on 56's so the question about the the oil filter.
I've tried to use the search thing but I must be asking the wrong things. I've been wearing out google too.
Appreciate any help. If I pull the trigger, I'll post some pics.

There is more to the early/late thing. The carbs, intake, heads, exhaust manifolds, fuel pump, pulleys all have to do with early and late dual quads on a 56. They can be a real bearcat. What is the VIN of the car? Can you get pictures? It all helps.

Hi all, I've not had much luck trying to get a few pics posted. I checked the help center and reckon I have to do one of those photo bucket things. Thanks, George
