I installed an Auburn Posi in my truck. I am very pleased with the quality of the posi. It took me about 2 hours to install, but I have done two before this one and I got luck with the factory shims for backlash. I tested it with a few burnouts and all is well. I'm one step closer to my 383 install this summer. I will definitely need to move some weight further back. I'm thinking battery relocated infront of right rear tire and fuel tank under bed behind axle. Also, I will get a good set of sticky tires. With nearly double the HP of my 305 it should be a fire breather. I might even build it with low compression to accomodate a Weiand 174 blower.

Does your truck still have the stock diff? If so what was the PN for the Auburn locker. I'm running a "slightly" pumped 350, 3spd Sag. and with the full fuel tank under the bed I still have problems spinning. 66 C10 fleet side short.

Stock 12 bolt rear

8.875 GM Chevy Truck 12 Bolt Auburn Posi 3.73 and Up Part #5420105 Auburn Posi

My truck still spins the tires, but it is much much better.

Total price was $420 for posi unit, shims and bearings.

I bought the posi unit. That one looks like a full locker. Here is the link for the exact one I bought.
