Who do you recommend for replacement carpet? Mine has about 10 years on it and it's starting to look pretty rough. Also my leaking heater core didn't help the situation any. Honestly I don't even remember where I bought it last time.

I've bought two so far for my 66. One from ACC and the other from OER. I can barely tell a difference but if I had to choose I'd say I recommend OER.

I see they have different carpet kits listed for automatic and 4 speed cars. Will the automatic carpet fit the floorpan of a 4 speed car? Is there really that much of a difference? I can find the auto carpet in stock in red but not the 4 speed carpet. Can I use it on my 4 speed floor?

That ... I wouldn't know. I would think they would fit. How much of a difference can the 4speed tranny hump be? If I were you I would compare the bare metal humps before ordering. I would think it's just the same hump with a hole in it.

since the floor pans are the same, not sure why the carpet should be different.

The shifter hump is larger in a 4 speed car, so the pre-molded carpet is made to fit the specific shifter hump.

If I remember correctly the carpet kit I installed 10 years ago was not the 4-speed specific type and it fit fine. I'm going to do some digging and see if I can find the receipt.

You can look at the two SS consoles (auto and 4 speed) and see the difference. Biscayne, BelAir and all other non-SS are not as obvious!

Here's another interesting twist:
Although my Impala is a genuine SS the console was removed by a previous owner sometime during the first 35 years of its life. I've always just used a Hurst shifter boot screwed into the carpet.

Yes, and that hole is cut in the same place for all 4 speed floor shifted cars - Impala, Caprice, BelAir or Biscayne. (even though not all got carpeting)
