right now i have a pretty mild (around 330bhp or so) 350 in my Silver anniversary coupe. i am getting reado to get a new exhaust but i have a dillema. this coming winter i am going to be dropping in a 427CID small block with around 675BHP and i've been told by the builder and several other folks to get the most out of it i'm going to need a 3" diameter exhaust on it. i do not want to blow cash on a new exhaust now just to have to buy another 795 dollar exhaust in december. the question is, can i run a 3" exhaust on this mild 350? i know that i'll lose some low end torque but will it become really undrivable? i'm at the point where if i cant run the 3" with both motors i'm going to put the C-3 in storage until the money for the new motor is in this late fall.

again, will it still be ok to drive with a 3" exhaust? i'm going to be buying an exhaust this week. i've got the Hooker Competiton headers already, just waiting on the exhaust now.
