for the welcome as she's a recent addition I dont really have a lot pic's of the Chevy she looks nice but I think you folk (US) would call her a twenty footer
Every piece of bright stuff needs attention no door rubbers actually no rubber anywhere trunk, hood etc so there is a little to do .......

On the up side its legal roadworthy and mechanically sweet last owner spent a lot of time and $$ under the hood Sweet running 283cid

A mate just happened to have some nice alloy wheel which arnt to bad (I think) 15' is a little better - put the originals away for another day along with 6 X wheel trim hub caps - I see they fetch good money on ebay

So if anybody can point me in the right direction for door rubbers windw felts cowel, trunk etc I would be gratefull. I also need a good screw kit for the interior the chap that put it together was a one size fits all type DOH!

As someone asked I have some of the Dodge it was an Ohio car learning curve re Salt & Rust not to bad just passenger front and rear floors and a little bottom of the quaters and a couple of other spots - The seller was economic with the truth and thats being very kind he was just lucky I live a long way away.

Interesting having two different 1960 cars side by side both totally different and unique in there own way - The Chevy gets the most attention

That's one very nice looking Dodge Dart Seneca

And being a 2-door model, it must be quite rare. It's probably the only one around your area for miles and miles, and maybe in all of New Zealand.

Thank you for the pictures. I like them both. I was raised in Northern Ohio around the time that car was on the road. You are lucky to have that much of the car left. Salt was used heavily and most cars just rusted away.

I would have to agree that Dodge has to be pretty rare these days. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Hi Chuck yes very rare here I know of one Pioneer Hardtop imported recently - 2 door post more than likely the only one here.
They had a few Canadian export Pioneers, 4 door with the Plymouth trim and dash sent here in 60 very few survived
I got lucky for the rubber mat base model Seneca it came with working Radio,Heater,Back Up Lights and the push button Torqueflite

Hi big ears, from another kiwi (there's a few floating around this site). I like your cars. My grandfather bought a black 60 bel air brand new in invercargill. The dodge would be rare alright - haven't seen a 2-door sedan around here.

Hi Lindsay checked out Brook2's 58 looking good The Dodge needs time and money to get her up to date, although runs well and used often.
Still wishing to participate I was fortunate to get the Chevy so I have a legal runner while I skin the kunkles sorting the other although the Chev will take a few dollars as well just to tidy up the small stuff - Chev gets the most attention out of the two when I'm out and about

What part of town are you I'm in Halswell so the shaking didnt knock us around as much as other parts of the city still a pain in the .......

What was the first year for the slant six--anybody know? My mom bought a brand new '65 Dodge with a slant six... it took me and my brother less than a year to total it out--I tore the trans out first and a few months after we got it back he rolled it. Mom came to her senses at that point and bought a used '64 Biscayne 2-door sedan with a 283 and PG. Now THAT was a nice car.

I'll look out for your Chev next summer. Will be quite a long time before my 58 sees daylight, but I have a caddy that might get (roughly) sorted this year. I'm in mairehau - a few blocks clear of serious damage. Jammed a few spare tyres under the car sills and bumpers to keep them well behaved. Look after those knuckles

This is the car that the slant 6 was made for 1960 Dodge Dart its the first year for them marketed as the ECONOMY 6 they were also installed in the new small car range Plymouth Valiant - The slant six engine was introduced in two versions - 101 hp, 170 cu. in. and a 145 hp,
225 cu. in - Production for cars stopped in 1991 but I'm sure they were made in Mexico as late as 2004 for use in agricultual and marine applications - The longest ever production run ever for an engine

Cheers personally any us car between 1957 - 1961 was pretty special just blows me away how they would create one year only cars unlike our current rides facelift after facelift - different knobs, altered grill dash etc essentially the same year in year out ..........
And they dont have wind stabilizers fins/wings I like the Dodge too but its the Chev that gets the most attention out of the two when out and about in public

I had a 61 Valiant slant 6 with the big motor, a guy in a Mustang hit me head on and wrote off both cars back in 1971 or so, he was drunk. It had 60,000 miles. I also had a 2 door hardtop 52 Plymouth, it was a flathead.

I think the small block Chevy ran from 1955 until now? Certainly the Chevy straight 6's ran from the early 30's until the mid 80"s.

I had a 62 Valiant with the 225 slant in it. It would run circles around the Chevy sixs. That motor was indestructable. It was cold blooded till warmed up. I wish i still had it. I bought it well used for 99 dollars and sold it a couple years later for 100 dollars. It was faded factory red. I turned it Ford engine blue with a case of rattle cans.

Welcome to the site.

True enough it isn't as simple as some. I think you'll find it more fun than most and not all that hard to get a handle on.

I like both cars but the Chevy interests me more because it's RHD. I'm kind of captivated by the idea and never tire of seeing examples of them. My wife likes it too. She is used to driving on the left..learned how in a Jeep in the Virgin Islands back in the 60's.

I second the idea of some interior pics. Love the wheels..they work just fine. Nice color choice too

The Dodge looks Great!! My buddy Frank's gonna drop his jaw when he sees it

thanks again for the welcome and kind comments sites working fine now got my head around it. Yes Stanly Next nice day I'll shot some pics and do the Interior need some myself for the record ........

Figmoman yor right the slant 6 is a seriously tough unit mind I'm enjoying exercising the 283 Chevrolet pretty sure its running a 350 holly the last owner put on. Seems an to cruise nice and get up when required with out sucking to hard on the gas ..... and 3 on the tree (colum manual change) is great grew up with those transmisons ..... Looking forward to summer

It was faded factory red. I turned it Ford engine blue with a case of rattle cans
