While I was grooming my harness and wires under the dash I found a two contact V shaped connector with a dark green and a green wire. I think this is the old back up light wires. When I did away with the 3 on the tree I did away with all the shifter parts and the openings in the tube. The diagrams you guys helped me with do not show anything on a backup switch that I can find. My bed does not have backup lights.

A two-spot female connector in a V-shape (light green & dark green), would have been the backup lights on the '66 Chevy trucks...plugged into the neutral/safety switch on the underside of the lower mast jacket on the steering column.
