I can't help but be happy about how these turned out, even if the driver's side has some denting and weird swirls in the metal. (don't know how that happened, were like that when i pulled them off the car)

I'm getting the white vinyl "Chevrolet" decals to apply. Should get here tomorrow, i'll post a pic how those turn out, too.

Chevy Orange is quite the color.

There's not too many things in this world that are prettier in color than CHEVROLET Orange.

It has become my favorite orange! It's not too bright, and it's not too dull. It seems to give off this radiant glow, and I find it absolutely stunning.
A big difference compared to how they were when i pulled them off the car!

Very early '59 283 valve covers were still offset. Not sure on an exact date changeover, but by mid-year, all '59 valve covers were of the straight across design.

Here is a picture of the Decals on my 56 Valve Covers. 56 had red engines not the famous Chevrolet Orange.

Usually when my wife comes in the garage she brings a book to read and finds a safe place in the garage to read not this one time. She tried TO read oone time but she was placed a pair of valve covers in front of her to paint the logo's she did not to bad.

I have to say i am disappointed with the valve cover Chevrolet script that i ordered from Eckler's. The script does not line up correctly. The letters do match up for the most part. The C and T do not line up right, and the spacing in between letters is too short in some places and too long in others. I would have expected a bit more for $20, but i was able to contort the vinyl a bit and cut and stretch in between the letters and it turned out half decent. It as like this on both scripts, and i know i was not distorting the vinyl beforehand.

Some day when i feel like it i will remove the vinyl and handpaint it myself.

This is what I've also found about parts from Eckler's. The quality of the reproduction leaves a lot to be desired. That's what I hate about mail order stuff. Much better if you can inspect the part in person BEFORE you lay out the bucks.

These are real easy to mask and paint yourself.
Get some good quality green 3M masking tape and cover the script. Then using a finepoint ink pen trace around the outside of the script. Using a SHARP exacto blade cut out the script following the pen line. I've used this method a few times and it works quite well. Todd

Thanks. I'll do that eventually. Was the original script white or silver like they sent me? I had thought it would be white...

Nothing new except what's obvious . You ever heard of 'OL55 East Coast Chevy? They have ironed out a lot of stuff for Tri 5's, before it was actually made.
