Anyone get a set of Smoothie bumpers for a 64?
I see I can get a pair from Impala Bob's or Hubbards for around $650.

Got them on my 64 and they look so much better than the 3 pc. I have no regrest . Got mine from Hubbards.

Here near the west coast, they were called "California bumpers." I agree, they look cool.

now these are a bit recent. i have seen someone build a set for a 64 lowqrider almost 10 years ago. granted you could see the welding work but they did loook neat..

The original one piece "California" bumpers used on west coast built cars use the stainless domed head mounting bolts that go through the bumper. They mount essentially the same way the more common 3-piece version bumpers do.
The new one piece "Smoothies" instead have mounting studs welded to the back of the bumper before plating. There are no visible bolt heads when the bumper is mounted on the car. These are great for a sleeker, more modern custom look.
