So i pulled the hood emblem and Vee off to clean and polish them. I haven't actually gotten around it yet because i'm lazy, BUT... I have discovered that on the plastic bit of the hood emblem, the silver backing is flaking off, and i can see through the white parts. the blue bowtie also has some bits that i can see are damaged, as well as the red. Is there any way i can fix this? I looked up replacements, and i can either get the plastic alone or with the chrome frame, however on the fame that i have now, it looks like the tabs that are bent to hold in the plastic are sort of broken (if you know what i mean) and i fear that they will snap if i bend them at all.

Should I just get a new emblem or is there some way i can fix it?

I think you'll be happier with a new one. Contact Impala Bob's (link above.)

Thanks guys! I figured getting a new one would be better. I can mount the old one on the door to my room or something.

I will probably order from autocityclassic, as I am making a large order form them soon as their prices are substantially lower on most items than both Impala Bob's and Eckler's. I haven't actually ordered from autocity before, do i have to call or can i email them an order? What payment info do i need?

if you order something through Eckler's they will send you emails every friday with discounts. i ordered everything to replace my trunk floor a few months back and i got 29% off. i have ordered stuff in the past from auto city classic and there prices on there web site are not right. call them first and see what the price is . and they missed up twice with my order's. i have been buying alot of stuff from Eckler's for over a year now and no one mess up yet.. good luck with your chevy..
