Well I turned 60 last week and my Impala turned 50. So I thought we needed a fresh look. I sold my 7 yo cragars on craigs list and bought this set of Foos rims and tires. These are 17x7 (4.25 BS) 225/55 17" front and 17 x 8 (4.5 BS) 255/50 17" rears. The price wasn't bad, 1850.00 mounted and balanced out the door. I definitely like the new look and it rides nice. As for myself, I got a haircut and new glasses. LOL Now I may be 60, but I'm not handicapped yet. This is where they parked me at this show LOL. Anyway, what do you all think?? Mac

Looks awesome but I'd have to see it in person, maybe go for a ride or maybe borrow the car and drive it for a week or a couple of months to give you the opinion you are looking for - hint, hint.
Seriously, car looks very good. Congrats.
Edit to add: Happy Birthday too!!

Saw the car (and Mac) in person at the Orange car show, and the wheels look very nice. Not doing to bad yourself, Mac Did you stock up on the 'old guys rule' T-shirts they were selling?

That's a sweet ride Mac! If you don't mind a comment from a 61 year old who has owned his '62 for 43 years, I'd go back to the old Cragars and put on a white top. (unless of course the cowl tag says a black top was original.............then I'd have to stick with it!)

Happy birthday to the 52 and 62 models
You made me stop and think.. being a 53 model I'm going to be 59 this summer. Somehow I my memory was stuck on 57
I like the wheels, gives it a younger make-over but I agree with Verne, the old Craiger SSs were

Mac, a beautiful car, but I prefer dog dish, I know you drive it both ways, but if you like those new wheels, that's what counts.
Congrats on the birthdays, there are a lot of 62's and 52's that didn't make it this far.

Well, I appreciate all of your comments and opinions. One day we'll all be gone but these old Chevy's will still be on the road.
Verne, we all make changes to these classics but they can always be returned back to their original glory. Mac

Only some of them can Mac. It depends on how far someone went with it.
When you take your kids to the museum to see an original 1850s Cherokee tomahawk, do you want them to see a real one or a recreated one? You can't recreate originality; you can only mimic it.

To me just about any five spoke wheel looks good. I love Cragars, but his wheels looks great on his car too. Sometimes an update is a welcome addition.
