Has anyone connected their obd1 chevy to a laptop with an adaptor cable? If so, how much info can you get from it? I would like to know before I buy the cable.

For our LT1 and L99 B-Bodies, we use an ALDL cable from pcmperformance.com and download the free version of Datamaster. It will allow you to do 20 datalogs before you have to buy it. You can get a lot of information from it. There are a couple of other datalogging programs as well, Freescan comes to mind.
I don't know if this is as effective for other vehicles besides B and F Bodies in the Chevy lineup.
