It has been over 12 years since this happened! Today, Friday the 13th I drove my 57 in the driveway. I still have some leaks to deal with and the brakes are still spongy but overall it felt better then great!

Charlie,
That's utterly FANTASTIC!!!!
I'm sure you're stoked about that "first ride", even though it was just up and back down the driveway. I've been following your build since you first started posting about it and you've certainly had some adversities to deal with and overcome. BRAVO!! The engine sounds great and she certainly seems to have a good deal of torque. I also liked the little bits of having her "grab a patch" on the short runs..... even in reverse!!
Here's to you and the rest of the family who stand at your side during your completion of the build.
And, thanks for posting the link.... I for one enjoyed it.

Guys, It was a blast! I was sitting on a tire with a blanket over it. I really, Really wanted to go up and down the block but I have a couple leaks which I hope to get the fixed very soon. It really did feel like it would fly, I know I'll add a lot of weight to it but right and slow it a bit.
I hope to get it on a dyno soon and let them brake it in and tune it up. Then I will drive it down the street!

I can't blame ya, but it's funny how we'll get to that point and want to drive it.
No doors, fenders, hood, glass.
But it runs! Let's go!
Congrats Charlie, I know how you feel.
