Can anyone point me to a photo (or photos) of an original, unrestored 1959 El Camino interior (door panels and seat covers at a minimum)? So many cars have replaced interiors that I'm not sure what my original interior looked like.

Snow? What's that?
Sure thing; I can wait for photos.
Not to brag but it's been in the 70s this week in El Paso. We don't see snow too much in these parts.

Google 1959 El Camino interior and hit images. You will see a nice shot from a fellow Chevytalk member's website of a perfect stock interior under the heading "Jan in Norway". The El Camino stock interior is basically a 59 Biscayne interior, and only came in gray, green and blue. I believe the only difference from a stock Biscayne was the horn cap on the steering wheel, which was from a Bel Air, but I have seen them with Biscayne caps as well, so who knows.

Thanks for the lead. It doesn't show all the details, but I have a better idea of what the interior looks like.

Hello,
Same problem!
I also opted for the stock interior style while restoring my `59 El Camino and after some research and tips from some members got me the material from SMS in grey. Looks good, but I haven`t brought the fabric and vinyl to the upholstery shop to get the bench covered. The door panels are preassembled. The only thing I wonder about is the headliner, it is cloth! Is there a place where I can find installation instructions?
Also still looking for a couple of more detailed pictures of an original interior. The ones found with Google are not that detailed.
How was the spare tire mounted (bracket?), how is the rear wall covered and is there a cardboard package tray cover like on passenger cars?

There are '59 El Camino brochures available on ebay but I'm not sure how much detail of the interiors is shown. The light duty '59 Chevy Pickup brochure also includes the El Camino.

I just found that oldcarbrochures.com website has a brochure but there isn't much to it:

I have a book with some pictures for the 1960, it shows the Biscayne/El Camino interior, pics are 4 door interior and has some numbers.
I also have one with the exterior 59 El Camino trim. I haven't found one with the spare tire area, but I don't think they had any cardboard or such. Maybe just some type of cardboard panel on the sides covering up where the rear windows drains go?
My car had a non stock interior when I got it and the spare was mounted under the bed.

If you look in this book, there is a small picture of the 59 and 60 interiors, I think you can see the spare tire with no cover, just bolted in with the base of the jack like in a car trunk. The vinyl top of the seats and the door panels are embossed.
On the 60 picture, it looks like there is a small panel in front of the spare at the bottom, the 59 picture doesn't show that low.

The originals are not very clear.
The 59 Interior:
The 59 Tire, I think it's a white rim and a wide whitewall:
The 59 embossed vinyl:
The 60 behind the seat:

Hi,
I already have that book mentioned by DonSSDD.
I`d be very interested in a template of the panel behind the seats.
Every further information/picture/descr ibtion is appreciated.
Are there really no survivors out there?
How about the headliner? As told before, SMS recommended a cloth one. I also got me a grey carpet instead of a rubber mat. Are the rubber mats available?
Package try same as in passenger cars?
PMs welcome!
Thanks, Thomas

There's a fellow who's selling a reproduction of that rear piece on eBay, but it's about $150! But at least there's a photo of it with his ad.
