ok, the bracket that holds the tension pulley, etc. became wobbly my belt loosened and can no longer drive, so i explored, found that the bracket snapped at the bottom screw an a screw at the top had sheared off the head, now the screws in the head and ive tryed the screw removal tools. im to the point of tap and die. can i remove the fan without concern? i def. dont hve the money for mechanics so its a diy project

Yes you can remove the fan.

Have you drilled the bolt and tried a easy out. If not start with a small bit and drill a pilot hole in the center of the bolt, be careful and get as near center as you can. Now you can re drill with a bigger bit and try a easy out.

Take your time and don't rush and get frustrated. Broken bolts can be tough sometimes but they can be gotten out.

Good Luck!
