anyone have a photo of how the well bolts into the well strip? I think I know, but would prefer a photo of how it works.

I think I remember screws that go through the tack strip and then thread into the bottom of the trunk fill panel.

thanks.

You're meaning the tacking strip for the back of the top? No pics but yes, bolts should go through the strip and into the top well. There should be rubber blocks spacing it off the metal so that water can flow into the drain rail.

any idea how the top motor gets mounted? do I push the rubber pieces through the holes or does it just sit on top of them and has nothing holding it in but gravity?

thanks.

The rubber mounts get pushed through the holes.
If I recall correctly my memory is excellent. My ability to access it is not.

great news, my brand new pump is leaking on the top of the reservoir where the bracket is welded.

On other news, anyone have a photo of the pin that goes through the piston and through the frame?

so it looks like a regular 3/8" or whatever bolt.

thanks.

Now to try to figure out the rear rail/boot part before the guy gets here to put it on.

It's a shoulder bolt, so.....It doesn't have threads all the way across......Measure the width of the frame where the bolt go's thru and get one at the Hardware store.....I'll take pictures of the pinchweld attachment points tomorrow....there are three buttons that have screws that go thru them......one each on the radius that go's from the side to the back....and on one that is the next button over from the joint where the two parts come together under the back window on the passenger side pinchweld.....

I was on the same page with the top piston bolt. After tinkering today, my leak stopped on the pump. very odd.

I have the pinch weld sorted out. I am now trying to figure out the back tack strip for the boot/curtain/top. I remember they through screwed to the underside of the trunk filler, but I had three or four different types of screws. A couple were very large from what I remembered. I am thinking I may need to either weld nuts or fill the holes and re-tap under the ledge of the car.

I actually found the bag marked windshield hardware up in my loft in a squirrels nest. All the items there, but gladly I welded the holes shut and put the original hardware and not the huge screws back in the windshield frame.

was there any sort of bushing in the piston?

Yes.....There were two short bushings that went into the piston rod from both sides of the rod, along with some thin wave washers to keep the rod centered.....

The guys at convertible service told me that they are the same size as the bushings that the pistons pivot on...this means I can use the ones from my old piston and it is free....a freebie in this world.
