I bought a power steering kit from you guys a while back for my 66 impala and it came with a little cap that has CPP engraved on it. My question is is this cap for aesthetic purposes only? I recently added headers with a lot of persuasion so the tubes can fit and that cap doesn't have room to fit anymore. The only way would be if i chop a corner of the cap off. Would that be a problem? I'm not sure if the top bolts are there for a reason or just to hold the shiny cap on.

if there is room its a nice finishing piece. Other then that it does not need to be installed.
Thanks,

Ok so those shiny bolts don't need to be on either, right? They were only for holding the cap on,right?

So what happens if I leave one of the bolts off? I can't fit the bolt closest to the firewall and header tube on because the tube basically wraps around the steering box. But the other three bolts are on.
