Seal on windshield, top trim inserted in seal.

Clothesline rope inserted in seal which overlaps lip; length should be 3-4 feet longer than circumference of seal and cross at top or bottom to allow you to grab rope and pull it out over the lip as an assistant pushes on windshield from outside (my wife was my assistant). You can see the rope in the first picture as I trial fitted the windshield and yelled at my sweetie to come to the garage.

Be sure your upper trim is centered and fully-seated in the seal.

Sealant at lip:

I used the vacuum cups to place the windshield in position by myself.

Once the windshield was in and all trim in place, I had my local glass shop inject some non-silicone sealant into the seal from the top of the A pillars across the cowl. Absolutely no leaks and no risk of the sealant bubbling the laminate.

good luck.

My 150 doesn't have the chrome trim and the gaskets are different from the belair and the 210. It doesn't have the windshield slot.

You should still have the slot for the windshield and the lip, just no third opening on the seal for the trim....I've never done a 150.

What does the assembly manual show for the '55 150's?

I don't have one for the 150 the one I have is the 210 ,,belair. It shows a slot . The T & N gasket that T & N sent me does not have a slot.

OK...logic says you should have an inner slot for the windshield and and outer slot for the lip.

What someone else will have to help you with is how the windshield is held in place. Is it just the seal over the lip and the factory dum-dum?

Are there wiper escutcheons on a 150?

I recall that there was at one time a site on which the Tri-Five assembly manuals had been accessible, but I can't find it now.

Will do some looking at my "55-56 manuals at home this evening.

The '55 150 had no exterior garnish moldings. Windshield is held in place by the windshield seal over the sheet metal lip and the dum-dum sealant. Installation is the same effort as the 210's and Bel Airs without the stainless, and stainless hold-down brackets and studs through the cowl/dash.

The windshield wiper escutcheons are NOT the same as the 210 and Bel Air versions. They are simpler in design.

A good friend has had a 150 in his family for 40 years plus and was able to describe the windshield for me.

This same friend is currently restoring the '56 sedan delivery he has owned for a similar period of time. The delivery is all original and complete other than the normal rust problems in the cowls, wheel wells, rockers and tail pan which are the result of a number of years it spent outside at his farm. For the past 15-20 years it's been stored in a pole barn. My '56 parts car has contributed numerous pieces to the Delivery.

I am no expert (there are many here that are), but as I just replaced my windshield seal (55 210), will throw my two cents into the mix.

150 vs. BelAir/210 should be similar (just no stainless to be concerned with).

I put the seal on the windshield (centered, right side up, right side out). Wrapped a fine rope around the outer slot, crossing at the bottom (I went to Lowes and picked up a nice 1/8" white nylon piece). Set the windshield in place (centered) with the bottom seal slot set correctly on the body flange. Warning, it will look at the top and sides like the windshield will never fit. Start pulling out the rope from the bottom and pull the seal over the flange until it looks like you are going to run out of rubber to cover the flange. Go around and lean/gently-bump/press the windshield in place. Return to the inside and pull a little more rope until you run out of rubber. Repeat process until it drops into place.

Couple of notes. Try to install in a symetric manner (pull rope from both sides equally, don't try to do one side and then the other). Of course the process is easier if you have a helper to push from the outside. It's cold here in the northeast and the wife is reluctant to leave the house, so I assembled solo. Refer to the other postings and assembly guides for proper caulks/sealing materials.

Hope this helps!
