Hi Guys!
I am on my way to bring my chevy back to full function. that includes the radio as well. I have replaced all the restistors etc. and the radio (wasn´t previously installed in my car) looks like to work fine, but there´s a 'but'...

As there was no radio in my car when i got it, i do not know, how this should be connected. Using my wiring-plan i found the right power-connection. but having a closer look to the radio itself i did find the antenna-port, but none for the speaker.

May some of you guys have a installation guide with pictures or can take a photo of the installed radio for me to follow.

If you flip the radio over there is a small "plate" on the edge at the back. it is holding a kind of a clamp and a flat metal contact-plate. is this the connector???

Help me, i am lost! :-)

Have you tried the on-line chevy manuals to look at it? Here is the link: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/radios/58crae...

Per the wiring diagram on the link I provided there is only one wire going to the speaker, the circuit is completed via the chassis ground connections. The one wire that goes to the speaker is the black wire on component #55 the audio output transformer. Per the diagram the primary should be red and green wires, the secondary or output shows a bare wire that should be bonded to the metal frame of the radio and the black wire could be spliced onto and routed to the speaker.

Hi!
Thanks for the info, but i already have that manual. Didn´t get me any further. On the radio there is no external cable to see - except the one for the light. I am suspencting the piece in the center of my second photo to be the speaker connection, but i have no proof of that. On the first photo, a bit above and right, you can see the antenna-port.

Help - i need music! :-)
