In traditional hot rod fashion of use what you have available the paint on my 81 gmc c2500 falls under this header. Sunday i decided to paint the old girl. was going to do a rattle can paint job but quickly found out was going to need way to much spray paint to cover the 31 year old paint.
I remembered I had a gallon of left over paint from when i painted my bed room. found the paint, tray and roller in my closest and went to town. currently have 3 coats on with plans of couple more after rain lets up. after i get all my coats on will be hitting it with high grain sand paper to get rid of the orange peel look. so far im happy with the results.

Saw a redneck way of putting a windshield in today lol. The guy used his chain hoist with windshield wrapped in duck tape. Yes duck tape and then installed the window and duck tape and gorilla taped it in. I said to him what are you smoking or drinking he said well i think it will hold I about lost it and busted up laughing

Tell him it will last longer if he rolls his windows down before shutting the doors each time.

Hey, what's wrong with wireing your exhaust up? Mine is on my 81 burb, but just at the back, but at the manifold as well

Ive seen that beer can and hose clamp truck work a whole mess of times... Used to bend pipe at a muffler shop and you start seeing all kinds of creative things... but nothing worked like that.

these all work in a pinch but if you are compromising safety if you idle for any amount of time. I like the idea of a thread about this stuff. I bought an 87 short box to play with this winter(had to he practically gave it to me)I call it Frankentruck, it has glass fenders and hood bolted on with 5/8ths threaded rod welded to the body and nilock nuts on the out side, what else could I call it.

Is the tip #1 under the truck, or #2 behind the bumper. if #1 don't let wife kids check it out. If #2 it don't matter.

driver seat rusted off at mount hole in floor under driver seat.

compared to your everyday folks this is a off the wall fix.

Placing sheet metal on floor gluing using the great black sealant glue for windshields, driving screws through the intact layers to draw it together. (welding out of question)

Take the old seat frame that rusted off on bottom and bolt 6 heavy long brackets to the frame and floor once the rusted metal on bottom of frame is removed, so as not to interfere with the brackets.

can't find a replacement frame at the junk yard that not suffering the same problem.

Here's a great exhaust repair:

Leather belt & zip ties???

NO, that's NOT an exhaust repair. Look very closely, that's a suspension repair!!!!! Cast aluminum arm that broke; splinted with a pry bar, hose clamps, a belt, and zip ties will help win the race. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
