I've never heard of such a car.Is this something you put a '66 body on?

I have never heard of it either. Thats why i'm building it. I took the running gear from a 2003 GMC Denali along with the stability control, load leveling system, class three hitch, front and rear air, 6.0 vorteck motor. Just wanted to build something differant. It also looks stock.

Sweet. AWD.

The weirdest thing I've ever seen was around an 88 2 door Cadillac Brougham Fleetwood that had 4wd and 33" mud grip tires. Freaked me out when I saw it. The guy was driving like it was normal for him. He took the chassis from a mid 90's truck and transplanted to body of the Cadillac onto the truck frame.

A metal cowl induction hood is going to be hard to come by. They were never produced that way and the only way you'll find one is if someone made one and you stumble across it. Most cowl hoods are fiberglass.

Keith, glasstek makes a very good quality fiberglass hood....or knowing your skills, you could buy a reproduction hood for a Camaro and "separate the skins, use what you need".

Sorry, not donating my hood for the cause.

Got to have the Impala all steel. After i shave everything off the truck intake i think i can get buy with a 2 1/2 inch cowl. I think I can get one for a nova its longer than a camaro. Im wanting it to be the full lenght of the impala hood. As for tires im using 235/60/17 on 17x8 rims. Hoping to keep the orginal look of the car. No mud tires. Hoping to run it in some SCCA events so i can show them rice burners what a full size chevy can do.

Hey thanks for posting my car on here Brian. It is almost ready to drive. Just have to finish building the brake pedal and shorten the gas pedal. Im working on repairing rust around the rear window now. With a 6.0 motor, All Wheel Drive and 4.11 gears this should be a blast to drive !!!

Well, isn't that different. In a good way, really, because when someone says they're doing an old car with 4WD we are used to seeing something like that Vette above.

I'd like to hear, and see, more details about this build.

Same here. Maybe one day I'll be able to see it somewhere in the south. I'm only assuming the car is in the south as Brian lives in the south and has photos of the project.

im also looking for show quality tail light crome. I bought some form Ecklers and had to send them back three time because of really BAD crome work. I also will need a good place to recrome bumpers this summer if anyone knows of a place you trust.

You might try North Star Plating out of Brainerd, MN. They are a part of Keystone Automotive. Been around for years doing excellent work.

Good luck with the AWD.

Love it! Would love to see some other pics of progress along the way and how all the donor parts were incorporated. I am assuming you had to use the Denali Frame in some fashion. Would love to see it along the way and I will look for it in Nashville (Goodguys 2012). Heck...I may even have to drive down to Bama to see this one.

The Impala is now off jack stands and sitting at ride height. Fender opening was just to big so now it looks better.

Hey Brian thanks for posting more pictures. We finally have the trunk lid fitting and finishing replacing all the rusted metal around the rear window. Wish i could have keep the Impala dash but it was just to small to hid all the STUFF i had to install behind it. But the good side is that it looks AWESOME hanging on the shop wall. Hoping to make the dash into a bar one day. ( Impala bar drinks on me) After this project is finished.

Very impressive build you have going there. I'll be following your progress. I built a 4x4 67 Mustang when I was young. You have done a much better job than I did on mine.

I was planning to do the 2012 Power Tour, but won't have the car finished in time. Hopefully I'll see you on the 2013 Tour.
