Getting ready to put some updated wheels and tires on my 1949. I watched a guy almost take his head off with the rim lock yesterday. I don't understand the wheel spacing options. The numbers I'm getting from Chevs of the 40s are 15" x 6", Backspacing: 3-1/2", Bolt Pattern: 5 X 4-3/4" Chevy. I think these will fit on my truck.

well those wheels won't fit unless the truck has been converted to a newer drive train. Yours would have 6 hole wheels. I can't believe how many people don't know what backspacing is.

Chevs of the 40s has rims for your truck. If your truck is stock, you will want rims with 6 lugs and 5 to 6 inches wide with no more than 3.5 back space. The site below will help to define the wheel requirements.
