I am cross posting this but I figure a lot of you here would enjoy it.

It is a 72 Chevy C/30 that over the last 2 weeks I have converted to a 4x4 and have been working on installing a Cummins 12 valve in. These are pics of my progress.

The truck before I tore it down:

The bare frame as it was 2 weeks ago with a busted front suspension:

3D rendering of the new front cross member/core support:

The piece becoming reality:

Test fit:

Now standing on a Dana 60!:

Built a cab lift on my cherry picker, works like a dream!:

Set the cab on the frame for the first time in 3 years:

(I love the stance over where it was!)

Test fit the Cummins:

Trimmed the frame:

Blasted the front of the frame:

Pulled it back apart:

Boxed it in:

Just a small update, I found and ordered some emblems for the truck.

Putting these on the front fenders where the 8-396 emblems would go:

Putting these on the fender in the appropriate position:

This is the color I have decided on.

I think its going to look pretty damn sharp!

This is how the motor mounts were built:

After a ton of measurements/lots of thought I came up with a 3D CAD file.

Then went to school and cut them out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IePKPhsDmTo

And welded em out.

I am still going to be adding a cross member that bolts in that will go under the engine. It will be removable so as that I can drop the oil pan with ease if I ever need to change the oil pump or something like that.

Mini update, I just stayed up all night doing cad designing a new bed, decided not to build the welder trailer, I am going to wind up buying a new machine, a Lincoln Vantage 300 with the Kubota Diesel. This bed is designed around it.

more to come soon...
