I have a 2007 Impala LS, 35K miles. I bought it used last month. When I first got it, and used the heater, a couple of times, a knocking noise would start up under the dash board, passenger side, right in front of the passenger seat. It would last a few minutes, then stop.
Fast forward to last Thursday, I had to replace my battery. Now, every time I start the car, or even use my remote keyfob to unlock the doors, the same knocking noise starts up. It last a few minutes, then stops. I've tried to see if having the climate control set to cool or hot, makes no difference.
I don't know what to try or even where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for not responding sooner. I was wondering if the issue has been taken care of?

is it a loud fast clicking?
Most likely the vent door actuators.
Ive already replaced one on my 07 Impala.
You just have to order the part.
Little teeth break on the gear inside and causes the popping.
heres a video.
