Welcome to Chevy Talk from West Michigan!

I can e-mail you a schematic if you will PM your address to me.

The wire for the transmission will go to a switch which is on the drivers side. It is part the TCS system, (Timing Control System) which controls when the vacuum advance is operable.

Schematic has been sent to you, let me know that you got it.

You are right about the sensor being on the passenger's side. I was thinking that it was on the same side as the TH 400 kickdown switch. The sensor is part of the TCS setup as I mentioned.

Does your truck have the rest of the system? The schematic does show components of the system and the connecting wiring.

I am having trouble figuring out some wiring issues on my 69 C10 long bed. Only tail light issues--due to someone stealing my 4 way trailer light kit by yanking it out ::(

AND the wiring is a bit of a nightmare from previous owner(s).

Basically, I need a wiring diagram/schematic from the rear harness that has 4 wires coming into it from the front of the truck, and 6 wires coming out on the other side and where each goes..

And, if anyone knows where to buy 2 new sockets for the license plate lights, thatd be swell too:) --punks ruined both when pulling on everything grrr.

Thanks in advance.

Corey

Corey,

Schematic for the rear light wiring has been sent.

I have been buying the tag light fixtures from the local RV dealer so you may want to check with them.

Thanks Jim.

Is that schematic for a 1969 c10 fleet side?

Th harness on mine has 6 wires coming out of it-- 1 Brown, 1 Yellow, 2 Green/Brown (back up lights?), and 2 green (Right Turn & ??), with one looking a little bit darker than the other--hard to tell tho.

The brown goes to Left turnsignal along with Yellow and one of the green/brown wires which is spliced into green. And there is a ground that runs from the firewall back to the turnsignal too.

The right turn signal harness of 3 wires--Brown, Green and Green again I think--again, they are old and dirty/nasty, hard to tell.

I hooked the brown to a brown wire coming down from opposite turnsignal. and left the 2 greens connected how they were before.. in which one green from harness/plug and one of the green/brown from plug hooked to the green wires that run to right turnsig.

let me know if you have any ideas. im going to order the wiring diagram book from LMC if I cant figure it out..

thanks for your time

Corey

The schematic is from the 71 Chevrolet truck manual but it is the same as the 69.

Unless you have camper wiring the stock harness front to rear harness has (4) wires in it, (brown, yellow, light green, dark green). The rear harness splits the brown wire up as follows:
left and right taillights, left and right side markers, and tag light).

The yellow wire goes to the left turn signal. The light green wire goes to the left and right backup lights. The dark green wire goes to the right turn signal.

Brake lights are routed over the light green and dark green wires through the turn signal switch.
