Well Unfortunately i need to buy a new crank since my steel forged Gm crank decided to break just behind the crank gear.
Crank broke due to the 6-71 blower and probably a little too much boost and a lot of years on it.

Since I am having no luck finding a used forged steel 350 sbc crank I am looking into buying a Scat, Eagle or Ohio Crank.

Ohio Crank has the best prices any advice would be great as far as what you have used what you think is good bad or otherwise.

Ive used 4340 FORGED scat cranks for years with no problems, yes the material maters and yes, you need a quality damper and balance job
it helps if you select a sbc crank with a bbc crank snout

If I could find a SBC crank with a BBC snout for under $800.00 I probably would go that route
I was told I would be looking at $1500 plus for one with a BBC snout?

A friend of mine uses a Ohio crank in his 383 powered 11 second Nova. It runs mid 11s on motor and some where in the high 10s when he sprays it which is most of the time. He runs it hard every weekend the strip is open and even uses it to drive to work sometimes. He takes good care of it but really thrashes on it hard most of the time. He has been running the same motor for a good 5 years atleast now and it is still running great. I wouldn't have a problem using Ohio crank stuff I have seen it stand up to years of abuse. He also has camaro with a 496 same story he drives it like its stolen and its still alive and well.
