Today I swapped out the TBI Intake to a carb intake for the engine that is going into my 66. Now I just have to find the motor mounts and torque converter.

That sure is a pretty engine!

The BB is going into the 65. I was going to use this engine (that is why it is blue) before I got the BB. I am using the SB in my 66 long bed.

I gazed lovingly at it while gassing up the snow blower in the garage. Expecting over a foot of snow tonight and tommorrow here on Long Island.
That picture's pretty dang funny, but it's not allowed. Sorry - gotta keep it G rated.

I DROVE her....
Then she started puking oil and smoking. I dont like women who smoke so I fixed the oil leak at the valve covers and did an minor tune up.
We now get along just fine.

Bolted up the flywheel and tranny and stabbed the engine in the truck. Of course I forgot to bend the body seam so the tranny wouldnot bottom out on it, so tomorrow I am going to pull it back out and do that. I just love doing things twice.

Went back and pulled the engine and tranny out. Put a new pump seal in the tranny and bent the pesty body seam up so the tranny would clear. We even bolted on the headers and water pump. Now I have a list of things I still need. And I painted the firewall flat black instead of the metalic black I had. Looks much better with the flat black.

Lookin' good guys!
Looked at my 498 on the stand, waitin' on parts.
Looked at my AFR heads some more, waitin' on parts.
The only good thing is that it is too cold and muddy here so I couldn't do anything except put it together anyways. Kinda gettin' excited though!
I still haven't caught up with our local artist yet for some quotes on paintin' my valve covers. Hope to find him around this week, otherwise a fresh coat of paint and on they go.

Johnny forgot the part about us meeting a local named Randy in his nice 1962 C10 fleet that he paid $500.00 for.
I put a bigger fuel pump in my '66 a 5-10psi Carter electric pump from Napa. It improved the driveability issue, but it's still not getting any gas to the secondaries.
Gonna try a re-built Q-junk carb in lieu of the thermoquad.

Woo Hoo! The big brown truck came today! We got parts! We should be getting more next week too! Now I need to get the rear to the driveline shop, so I can start putting it back together.
We decided not to start taking the front end apart until the rear is back together.
The only thing I`m sure of, is that I`m not sure of anything.

I found out my pushrods won't be here until Monday. oh well.
Son called tonight and he is thinkin' about coming home the last weekend in Feb. He is my chief hood and engine installer/remover.
So if I get my PR's and nothing else sneaks up on me, the 498 will go into it's home on the 27th or 28th. assuming weather cooperates even mildly.
Then the earth is gonna shake.........hopefully.

today Greg came to the island and we stripped the 81 parts truck and cut it up in managable pieces. Greg was going off with a sawsall with a big smile on his face. His Daughter came out with him so she could get credit for her shop class. We did have help from another person from another chevy truck board.
I found out the truck has a 200R4 tranny and an aluminum Drive Shaft too boot. More parts I did count on
