OK....new thread.....I've torn down everything that can be taken apart...
Got the rear end back under the chassis tonight. Need to torque the bolts and that will be done....it's a bit hard to tell what's going on since everything is black and the lighting is not the best.

With the exception of the Grease seal not all the way around the ball joint, does this look normal to you guys.....i've checked the shop manual and pix from the teardown and it's looks like it I guess.....Just strange, maybe cause all the grease is off now
I did go to the local parts house and get a Spring Compressor, it worked out great but it has taken me the longest item today to fool with, took an act of congress to get it off and out the tiny opening after I got everything in place... Well, one side down and off to do the next!!

POR 15 sounds like the way to go. Also for the U Bolts which are kinda of hard to break or mess up unless you cross thread the nuts. POR 15 will make them look better than new.

Got the spindles painted with POR 15 black....made yet another shopping list for some more parts...which I will order tonight. I tackled the steering box to tear into the linkage.....Whoa.....does not want to come apart, I guess I will have to take it to work and put some heat to it....Studied the disc brake set up and looks like it will not be to bad.....time will tell

Tommy if you are talking about the removal of the steering Pittman arm it takes a real GOOD U shaped Pittman arm puller to get it off. The other joints will come loose with a big old hammer and pickle fork. It sure looks good and don't forget the upper A arm cross shaft POR 15?

You could spray it with clear like Grady was saying, or you could shoot it with Cast Blast, It will look just like cast metal but it will be painted.. I used cast blast on quite a few things on the Imp..

Disc Brake question gang.....I'm no dummy however, after this I may be.....The instruction pamphlet that was included with the system is year specific, however I think the kit may be used for different vehicles. Reason for this statement, there are more bolts included than needed. And there is a typo in the manual as it says to install both bolts at the bottom of the caliper arm.. That won't work as there is only one hole. Nothing is tightened down yet, just have "stuff" in place. Anyone see anything that "looks out of place"
or "that shouldn't be like that"
