Isn't camper special a ford???
to make your search easier...
CUSTOM CAMPER was just a few options on a truck, nothing special underneath.
So you can scratch looking specificly for a custom camper.
If it is a coil suspention frame, then you are in even more luck, the 1/2 ton frame is almost the same as the 3/4 ton frame. Nothing as far as strength issues, only the rear cab mounts differ.
So now you have widened your search to C/10 and C/20 coil spring trucks.
Don't forget 68 - 70 are all the same too.
Now, this would be a good time to swap out to disk brakes up front. If you were to find a 3/4 ton 71 or 72 long wheel base truck, you'd be WAY ahead in the game. You can't even get replacement drums for your 68. On top of the better brakes, you'd get a stronger frame too.
Hope some of this helps.

can you e-mail me the camper special pics to cockroach93@yahoo.com? I have stacks of books, factory literature, vintage adds, and everything else all on the 67 - 72 chevy and GMC trucks. No where have I ever seen a listing for a Camper Special.
I'd like to see this. I suspect it is a badge from a 73 - 87 square body truck.
