Hi, what is the official lug nut pattern for this vehicle,as Ive heard 2 different ways of determination. Certainly only 1 way is correct.I come up with 5 over 4 3/4". Last, does the unilug style of rim have any downfall for reliability as am looking at chrome rims. thanks jim

Jim, 5X4 3/4 is correct.

I've heard bad things about unilug wheels - wouldn't touch them.

If I recall correctly my memory is excellent. My ability to access it is not.

Everyone makes wheels for mid-60s Chevies. You should never have to settle for Unilugs. Want to shear a lug nut? Unless you got a smoking hot deal on a set I would not run them (one less thing to worry about). Tom

Last time I put unilug's on a car I had to have a tow truck haul me off the interstate.

1) Yes, Ø4.75"x5.
2) Never on steel rims - i.e. concentric lugs. Maybe if it was rare 15"x8-10 slot mags for a very cheap price.

Unless you mean there are TWO SEPARATE bolt patterns like some Weld wheels have. If so, it OK of course - but in my eyes it looks cheap.

Unilug is crapola.

Think of it, you are asking something critical to be something that is used for something else.

Unilug use an ovoid lug hole to allow for fitment on a variety of lug patterns and require a bullet type lugnut to lock the wheel in place. I have quams about the wheel moving or being secure. I just picked up an early set of Cragar Strert or pro Stars off Craigslist for $200 so why get unilug when you can find the Correct Wheels? I will post pics when they are mounted on the Impala.
