These photos would have been good at the CFAC, but the wifey just found them. A few of these pics look just like pics from last month doing alot of the same stuff on the car for the second time. Only 35 years later.

Is that a Pontiac engine in that first shot?

Tony,
That's the 2008 CTDC, at 19 years old.
Puzz,
Both engine shots show the mighty Ponti 389.

A Pontiac engine in a '56 Chevy, parked in a driveway on Plymouth Street.
Junior, you were messed up back in those days.
Puzz, The mighty ?? 389 is long gone now, but Jef still has the automatic transmission that was in Steve's car.

The engine and trans were going into a 64 GTO. When I found the SD it was only $60.00 for a set of hurst motor mounts to put it in the chevy. The rest is historical. Same price as the car was.

I don't see a windshield in any of the pictures. Did that come 37 years later?

Pre-rapid oxidation or not, there's no windshield!
Unless you found some mysterious way of cleaning it so well it disappears! (Which includes the rubber seal.)

Hi guys..I had a 55 Pontiac that I put a tri-power 368 horse 389 in. With a 4 speed, no headers and a 4.30 rear, it would run 12's all day long. That was pretty fast back in the early 60's.
I helped a pal do a 421 into his 56 Chevy, and we used stock 55 Pontiac motor mounts that lined up perfectly with the holes for the six cylinder mounts!!
