I posted a topic in the S-10 forum about speed equipment for the 2.5L engine that came/comes in S-10s.

Is there any? Is there any way to get rid of the electronics...???

I have an idea, but I need info!

I believe these engines are used in certain classes of car and boat racing.A little confusion being there are two 2.5 engines, the other being the Pontiac Iron Duke. You can buy so called Pontiac Super 2.5 Duty block and head but I don't know exactly what parts fit what 2.5 engine. A Google search of the Web brings up a lot of 2.5 racing engines and parts, all fairly expensive.

I've seen old Offy intakes for them to run 4 barrels. I knew they were used in some racing classes still. The only thing I never cared for about them was the sound the old nylon timing gears made when they started to wear. The older ones had steel I believe?

I didn't realize that my 95 S-10 came with a 2.2L engine...as opposed to the 2.5L.

I remember the "Iron Duke"...what a name for a GM 4-banger...then there was the "Quad Four"...

What I was doing was fishing for info...thinking about using a 4-cylinder engine in my 95 S-10 5-speed chassis and 53 5-window bodied truck.

However, I do not want any electronics...gots to be points distributor, carb/carbs...
