This is a list of wheel offsets for the 55-57 cars. All measurements where taken from the wheel mounting surface to the center of the lower ball joint using a surface plate and height gauge. Many companies claim different measurements for the exact same rotor and spindle combination. If in doubt, ask which brake rotor they are using.

0.0 CPP drop spindle = No change in track width. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+3/8” O.E. spindle with narrow hub and CPP 13” rotor = 3/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: some 16” all 17”.

+3/8” O.E. spindle with CPP “Zero Offset” 10.8” rotor = 3/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+7/8” O.E. Stock spindle with standard hub and CPP13” rotor = 7/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: some 16” all 17”.

+7/8” O.E. Stock spindle with standard 11” rotor (common Chevelle rotor) = 7/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+7/16” O.E. spindle with ECI “Zero Offset” 10.5” rotor = 7/16” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+3/16” Heidts drop spindle with 8215 rotor = 3/16” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+7/8” Heidts drop spindle with CPP 13” rotor = 7/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: some 16” all 17”.

The 58-64 shares these 3 measurements as the 55-57.

0.0 CPP drop spindle = No change in track width. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+3/8” O.E. spindle with narrow hub and CPP 13” rotor = 3/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: some 16” all 17”.

+3/8” O.E. spindle with CPP “Zero Offset” 10.8” rotor = 3/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

how much does this kit affect the wheel and would you have better braking compared to the 10.8" zero offset kit, i have 16" ralley wheels and trying to get the largest brake with least offset , i can't use the 13" kits

The 12" kit is not being made. Only the 13". These do fit some 16" wheels. But fit a 17" for sure.

Need help. My 55 Nomad has stock drums up front. I want disc ,but no offset at all if possible. I have 15x7 Cragers with a 3/3 offset. I'd like a 1 peice rotor and hub set up . What kit do I use or what are my options? Also most kits I have seen have no backing plates. Why? Also I dont want to use drop spindles.

How fast is FAST ENOUGH ? It's that fine line between out of controll and dangerous.

5564wbk-s0 is the minimum offset kit. Only 3/8" per side. Narrowest kit on the market.

For 1958-64
"0.0 CPP drop spindle = No change in track width. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type."

WARNING: This is blatantly untrue

Following a lengthy forum discussion a year ago it was established by fact and backed by senior chevytalk members that the track for 1958 models would be increased by 2 1/2" using the CPP drop spindle.

CPP have made the mistake of assumming that 1958-64 front spindles were the same when in fact the 58 model year spindle is entirely different and produces a track 2 1/2" narrower than the 1959-64 model years.

It is very important that 1958 owners are made aware of this as the options for wheel fitment are severely limited whilst using the CPP drop spindle - even more so when used in conjunction with air suspension.

I hope this helps all 58 owners considering this modification.

Regards Paul

What is the wheel offset when using the new 5557SWBK-D12 kit? Is it the same zero offset spindle or something new?

Thanks,
Ron
