Hay guys - Does anybody know what the difference is between the C20 & the K20 truck.
To my knowledge both are 4 wheel drive and should be 3/4 ton vehicles. My old '70 has gone thru so many engines in her lifespan that I don't know what the original cid V8 would have been. Same goes for front fenders, they either were changed because of rust out or banged up etc..... so I can't go by the C20 emblem now on her.
She's got 8 lug wheels and is geared as a real gas hog! My buddy changed the rear to a 1 ton when he had it to get a bigger brake shoe to try and stop her!
Any help in letting me figure this out is apprechiated.
P.S. There's no spell check here on CT so sorry for any mistakes............ I know that apprechiate is wrong.... whatelse hmmmmmmm

this is not obviouse on the adging though, all trucks had C badges, and all blazers (including 2 wheel drive ones) were K badges.

That's wierd, isn't it?
My buddy has at least two other (maybe 3 or 4) long bed 4 wheel drive V8 Chevies 68-72 vintage in his bone yard. I'll have to drive over there & check them out. Last time I was there he had a 59 or 60 Apache sitting there with stuff piled on top of it and it looked vey restorable to me..... He isn't computer savy & I guess nobody knows where he is etc....... One of his trucks has less than 50,000 miles on it but the frame is shot! It was a farmer truck & Bumper (my buddy) said that all the cow dung was never washed off & just ate the frame up! I'm sure the rears, trans etc. weren't impacted.
Oh well, getting to run my mouth on & on

I know this is an old thread but this is interesting. I don't know how legit that is. I had a 1976 3/4 ton 4wd that was badged C20. Bought it from my father who had bought it new? I always wondered also about the C&K but mine was a C20 4wd, can't figure that one out? I had bought it in 86 when he bought a new 1 ton with the 6.2 diesel Weird is all I can say.

Sounds like they put the wrong fender badges on it in the factory. If you were to check the VIN it would probably show as a K truck.

There were a few that were built as Chevy's on one side and GMC's on the other. The fenders and hood were trimmed out in a remote area of the plant and then conveyed to the main line in sequence. It wasn't obvious upstairs that something was wrong until the fenders made it to the final line (at which point it became painfully obvious, especially if the two tone paint was messed up).
